Description
For women who are not currently using a contraceptive method, FPNONIA2 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported a community/primary health center or rural hospital as a source of family planning. This response category is country-specific to India.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences, FPNONIA2 has no comparability problems.
Comparability - Standard DHS
An open-ended question about where family planning can be obtained for women not currently using a method is included in Phase IV forward of the standard DHS questionnaire. FPNONIA2 is a country-specific response not included in the standard DHS modules.
Universe
- India 2005: Women age 15-49 who are not currently using a method of contraception.
- India 2019: Women age 15-49 who are not currently using a method of contraception and who have not had a hysterectomy.
