Comparability - Standard DHS
NEWSMO is a country-specific variable, but some standard variables collect information about exposure to newspapers. In DHS Phases I through III, NEWSWK (V109) indicates whether the respondent reads a newspaper at least once a week. In Phase IV forward, respondents were asked how often they read a newspaper or magazine (NEWSFQ (V157)).
