CANCERDIAG indicates whether the respondent has ever been diagnosed with cancer.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, CANCERDIAG has no comparability problems.
Comparability - Standard DHS
CANCERDIAG is a country-specific variable for most phases of the DHS. In phase 8, the standard variable CHD15 is included in an optional module about chronic disease.

- Benin 2017: Women age 15-49 in households selected for the men's survey.
- Burundi 2016: Women age 15-49 who have cancer.
- Cameroon 2018: All women age 15-49.
- Lesotho 2023: Women age 15-49 in households selected for hemoglobin testing.
- Madagascar 2021: Women age 15-49 in households selected for the men's survey.
- South Africa 2016: Women age 15-49 in households selected for the adult health questionnaire.
