Comparability
Along with universe differences, the question wording differs across samples for BRCANEXAM. It is not clear from the question wording whether respondents are reporting on a manual check for a lump in the breast or on other procedures, such as a mammogram or biopsy.

The 2011 Cote d'Ivoire survey asks whether the woman "ever had a test for breast cancer."
Comparability — Jordan [top]
The 2002 Jordan survey asks, "Have you had a breast cancer self exam or an exam by a health specialist to detect breast cancer in the last twelve months [emphasis added]?"
The 2007, 2012, and 2017 Jordan surveys ask whether the woman has had a breast cancer clinical exam to detect breast cancer in the last 12 months. The preceding question asked whether the woman has examined her own breasts in the last 12 months (BRCANSELF).

The 2014 Kenya survey asks whether a doctor or other health professional has ever examined the woman's breasts to detect or check for breast cancer. The preceding question asked whether the woman has ever examined her own breasts (BRCANSELF ).

The 2009 and 2014 Lesotho survey asks, "Have you ever had a breast cancer clinical exam to detect breast cancer in the last 12 months?"
Comparability — Namibia [top]
The 2013 Namibia survey asks whether a doctor or other health professional has ever examined the woman's breasts to detect or check for breast cancer. The preceding question asked whether the woman has ever examined her own breasts (BRCANSELF).
The 2000 Namibia survey asks only, "Has the doctor or nurse ever felt your breasts to check for lumps that might be breast cancer?"
