Description
GADSCORE (MTH24) sums the value of seven variables covering symptoms of general anxiety disorder (GAD), to create an index of anxiety. According to The DHS Program, âAnxiety is a mental health disorder that affects everyday situations through constant worrying, nervousness, and feelings that could interfere with the personâs daily activities, relationships, or work.â
The seven component variables of GADSCORE have values ranging from 0 (responses of âneverâ for all seven constituent variables) to 21 (responses of âalwaysâ for all seven constituent variables). Responses of ârefuse to answerâ (code 7) and âdonât knowâ (code 8) are excluded from the calculation.
