Nearly 3000 new variables added since the Spring 2016 data release.

Edited variables.

The geography variables with the same geography in IPUMS-International and IPUMS-DHS were given new names. For example, GEO1_BF was renamed DHS_IPUMSI_BF. Other renamed variables in the same series are DHS_IPUMSI_CM, DHS_IPUMSI_ET, DHS_IPUMSI_GH, DHS_IPUMSI_IA, DHS_IPUMSI_KE, DHS_IPUMSI_ML, DHS_IPUMSI_MZ, DHS_IPUMSI_NG, DHS_IPUMSI_RW, DHS_IPUMSI_TZ, and DHS_IPUMSI_ZW.
Single sample geographic variables in the format GEO_COUNTRYYR (e.g., GEO_EG2014 had their original DHS names changed to the V101_COUNTRYYR format (e.g., V101_EG2014).
Changed integrated geography variables to accommodate new samples: GEO_GH1988_2008 is replaced by GEO_GH1988_2014, GEO_KE1989_2008 is replaced by GEO_KE1989_2014, GEO_RW2005_2010 is replaced by GEO_RW2005_2014, GEO_TZ1996_2010 is replaced by GEO_TZ1996_2015, GEO_ZW1994_2010 is replaced by GEO_ZW1994_2015
The HCFxx variables on sources for female condoms were replaced with a new series of HCF general and country-specific variables on sources for female condoms.
The HCMxx variables on sources for male condoms were replaced with a new series of HCM general and country-specific variables on sources for male condoms.
The H12SAxx variables on sources for advice on STIs were replaced with a new series of STIAD general and country-specific variables on sources for STI advice.
The DELxx_ALL variables on persons giving delivery care for the most recent birth, and the corresponding child-level DELxx variables, were replaced with a new series of DELxx_01 and DELxx standard and country-specific variables.

The HATxx variables on HIV/AIDS test locations were replaced with a new series of Atxx general and country-specific variables.
Variables on media exposure were renamed: NEWSYN became NEWSWK, NEWSAMT became NEWSFQ, TVEAWK became TVWK, RADIODAILY became RADIODAY, and RADIOWKLY became RADIOWK.
Measles vaccination variables renamed: VACMEA becomes VACMEAS1, VACMEADAY becomes VACMEAS1DAY, VACMEAMO becomes VACMEAS1MO, and VACMEAYR becomes VACMEAS1YR.
The VACPOLIO variables on polio vaccinations were replaced with a new series of VACOPVxx variables.
Removed the following variables: RADIOCASSYN (added to RADIO, DAIRYCTNUM (added to EXOTICCTNUM, FPMEDIAOK (moved to FPRADIOOK)
The integrated codes for the following variables were changed to 2-digit composite codes to accomodate additional detail: CONUSMAN1, CONUSMAN2, CONUSMAN3, EVERMARRIED, CURRWORK, ANCARD, COOKOILTYPE, ALFREQ, DVOFQ, DECFEMEARN.
Changed codes for PREVRESTYP to make more comparable across samples. Changed "Town or countryside" from 31 to 20, changed "Town" from 20 to 21, changed "Countryside" from 30 to 22, and changed "Other or abroad" categories from 40-42 to 30-32.

PPABMO was topcoded at 60+.
DELHMOTH_01 changed codes from 1 and 2 to 0 (no) and 1( yes) to match other variables in series.
RELIGION adds codes 601-604 for "religion 1" to "religion 4" for Model dataset.
DELPL adds codes for polyclinic (209) and private mobile clinic (324).
ETHNICITYKE changed to 3 digit composite codes, added separate codes for Meru and Embu, and added categories to "Other."
FPUSINTENT changed "never had sex" to code 5 and added code 9 for NIU.
INSCHOOL changed source for EG1992 from DHS variable v148 to s106, increasing the number of yes responses
